Unrankned Virginia defeated the #3 Duke Blue Devils in a 73-68 victory. This win proves how wide open the tournament will be later this month. There have been many different upsets in the past few weeks that include Minnesota over the number one Indiana. Virginia was able to contest Duke all night with their shut down defense. With their home town fans on their side they were able to rack in 6 blocks, 3 steals, and 33 defensive boards. Virginia is currently undefeated at home this season. There was a combined 50 points from Seth Curry and Quinn Cook that provided most of Dukes points. Virginia is a promising team but has proven to be inconsistent through out the year. They have bad losses to Old Dominion, George Mason, and Delaware. On the other hand they also have some big wins such as Wisconsin, NC State, and now Duke. Virginia has potential to be a major bracket buster this month and make it deep into the tournament.
